a knitted flag

I've just finished knitting the front of a cushion cover which I believe is going to be a sample on the telly!!!  


It needs to be blocked - never done that so let's hope I don't ruin it.   I need to find instructions on the best way to do it.  The yarn used is Aran weight - 40% wool, 60% Acrylic.   I just managed to finish the front with one 100g ball.
